The Upper Zambezi in Namibia - a haven of peace

After two years of planning and waiting finally I have made it to the spectacular breeding colony of Southern Carmine Bee-Eaters, situated on the banks of the Zambezi river. While the Carmines are the star attraction, the whole area is beautiful, with quiet backwaters off the main river that hold so many gems. The peace and quiet of the area is a joy to experience - sitting quietly on a backwater, just waiting to see what birds happen by, is magical.
